The purpose of this technical assistance is the academic and teaching direction of a training programme designed as a tool for promotion and dissemination to raise awareness of SICA among the citizens of all countries belonging to the SICA region. The aim is to inform the general public of the meaning and scope of regional integration, its main policies and challenges, as well as to raise awareness of the institutions that make it possible.

The course has a twofold objective:

  • To raise awareness and disseminate among the citizens of the countries that make up the SICA Region, the meaning and scope of Regional Integration, its main policies and challenges, as well as to publicise the institutions that make it possible
  • To serve as an introductory module on the concept, scope and processes of integration for those candidates who wish to access the courses on ‘Integration, Sustainable Development and Risk Prevention’ and ‘Social, Educational and Cultural Integration of Central America’

This course is aimed primarily at civil society and citizens and especially at the youth sector -both university and secondary school- of the countries that make up the SICA region (Central America, Dominican Republic and Belize). (Central America, Dominican Republic and Belize), as well as civil servants and professionals whose work responsibilities are directly or indirectly related to the bodies and institutions of SICA.
