The Bridge 47 – Building Global Citizenship project has been created and implemented by 15 European and global civil society organisations. It aims to mobilise and empower civil society worldwide to contribute to a transformation towards global justice and poverty eradication through Global Citizenship Education (GCED). The European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI), of which Fundación ETEA is a member, leads the work of Knowledge Exchange Partnerships, which serve to ensure a free flow of ideas and best practices for Global Citizenship Education between research institutions and civil society organisations.

The Iberian Partnership – formed by Fundación ETEA, Sinergias ED (Portugal), University of Santiago de Compostela, University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – aims to connect regional civil society organisations with Bridge 47, as well as Spanish and Portuguese researchers, in order to create a coalition that bridges the gap between research and practice. The kick-off meeting took place in Cordoba, in December 2018, during the IV International Congress of Development Studies, where the initiative “Knowledge Exchange Partnerships Strategy for Bridge 47” was presented, establishing the start of the partnership.

Technical assistance focuses on consolidating this Iberian network through the holding of events, coinciding with broader development-themed congresses and/or conferences, and the generation of audiovisual and educational materials to promote GCE and Bridge 47 to a wider audience.
