In Honduras, in general, and in Santa Rosa de Copán, the machista sex-gender system manifests itself in high rates of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. In order to contribute to the eradication of these inhuman and degrading gender-based abuses, a system of attention and prevention of gender-based violence, trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation will be implemented.

To this end, work will be carried out in three areas:

  1. Awareness-raising and advocacy among the population through artistic and cultural activities, promoting the participation of young communicators for social change
  2. Strengthening the capacities of duty bearers and civil society to ensure better care for victims of gender-based violence
  3. Improving Casa Hogar’s capacities for care, coordination and advocacy. In these three areas, women and girls will be at the heart of the action
