The Board of Trustees of Fundación ETEA approves the annual accounts 2021-22 and analyses the progress made in its consolidation as an academic actor in Development

The Board of Trustees of Fundación ETEA – Development Institute of Universidad Loyola met on Monday 27 April 2023 at the Seville campus to approve the annual accounts of the entity for the financial year 2021-2022.

As it appears in the recently published report of activities for the financial year 2021-2022 (Spanish), the Institute presents a balance of 28 projects and consultancies with the participation of nearly 80 researchers from Universidad Loyola and a figure of 1.2 million euros in funds managed.

Likewise, the entity has maintained the efforts of the previous year in reflection, dialogue and awareness-raising in the field of development with the holding of 14 academic and debate spaces, including congresses, seminars, training sessions and events.

Consolidating the strategy as an academic actor in the field of development

Within the framework of the Development Institute’s 2022-2025 strategy, the entity focuses on promoting research, innovation and development cooperation proposals, linking different disciplines and research groups at the university and taking advantage of opportunities for collaboration with international development organisations.

As a complement to the above, it is also committed to participating in European consortia to work in priority areas of the institutional research agenda

Finally, there is a special institutional interest in consolidating the extensive trajectory of collaboration with the Latin American region through the development and implementation of a research agenda of high impact and incidence in the Central American crisis. One of the highlights in this strategic line is the creation of the academic network Central America Initiative (Red ICA), which has started its activity this year.
